No rra files

Post by strelok00 »

Hello !

I installed Cacti 0.8.8b and is trying to add device.

My steps:

1. Added device, I see SNMP Information from it.
So, SNMP is OK.

2. Created Graphs for this host.
I see that Cacti wrote that all Graphs created.

3. I checked dir /var/db/cacti/rra/

But No ANY rra files created.
Status of device is unknown.

I check log for cron and I see that cron works:
Apr 10 12:40:00 vFreeBSD10 /usr/sbin/cron[77240]: (root) CMD (/usr/libexec/atrun)
Apr 10 12:40:00 vFreeBSD10 /usr/sbin/cron[77241]: (root) CMD (cacti /usr/local/bin/php /usr/local/share/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1)

4. I turned ON debug mode and I see

RRDTools Says:
ERROR: opening '/var/db/cacti/rra/esxi_server_val_cpustatus_30.rrd': No such file or directory

I checked permissions for this dir:

root@vFreeBSD10:/var/db/cacti # ll
total 8
drwxrwxrwx 2 cacti cacti 1024 Apr 10 12:33 rra/
drwxr-xr-x 2 cacti cacti 512 Apr 9 07:33 scripts/

It seems OK, moreover I made 777 for rra dir.

In which way I should search problem ?

Thank you in advance.

Problem solved, but not sure that it's normal way.

RRA's created after I put "php poller.php" manually.

After this RRA's created and devices became UP.

And every time I add new Device I have to put "php poller.php" manually in order to create RRA's and device became UP.

Check the permissions of your rra directory. Is the user that runs the cron allowed to create new files in that directory?
