Linux Boxes that Monitor Windows through WMI

Post by trkemsit »

I would like to see a template or some added support for monitoring windows servers using the features of WMI on the Linux servers.

This PHP to WMI scripting is awesome.. to bad i am not a programmer or a web guru.

The "Windows 2000/XP Host" Host Template offers exactly what you need.
I monitor disk usage, cpu utilization, processes, interfaces, system uptime by simply using the above Host Template.
Be aware that Windows 2000 doesn't deliver any meaningful data for memory (real/virtual) usage. Windows 2003 does.

If you need more counters and need to use WMI have a look at http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=5842. You'll find a document summarizing all possible ways to get WMI data using a linux box.
