Export data to another database

Post by rovshango »

Hi,

I got simple Cacti installation on CentOS 6.5 server.
I monitor Access Point's traffic.

We need collect these data into Oracle Database.
So I need auto/manually export it.

Is there any option?

Thanks.

Your options.

1. Manually export the data from the RRDs to XML
2. Write a script to export the data from the RRDs to XML
3. Write a plugin to capture the data before Cacti puts it in the RRD, and also send it to the other database

With any of these options, you are basically on your own, as its outside the scope of what the software was meant to do.

Hi,

First of all thanks for details, I will check later on.
I have to ask one more question if you don't mind...

As all these will be implemented manually, so there is no way to export it automatically?...
I am cacti will insert data to some database simultaneously ....

Thanks again.
Note: I am first time in this Cacti forum :)

Option 3 above would be automatic, 2 could be automatic depending on how you wrote the script.

Hi,

I kind now can get network availability report.
For me key task is collect each host's (WiFi access point in my case) throughput, then we can query thing like, total down/upload for day etc.

Thanks.
