Hi there!
I think, a question with this error messages was already posted, but they don't fit on my situation (AFAIK).
I installed cacti and hardly configured any new DSs, graphs, etc. I made all necessary settings, put the poller (using cmd.php) in /etc/cron.d, and after some time, fine graphs have been plotted.
Although, everything is working, I always get this log msg twice for every poller.php-run:
Cacti Logging[32565]: 11/07/2004 01:54:02 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: Either there are no items in the cache or polling is disabled
So I made some "debugging" and at least found out, that theses messages are the result of "cmd.php 0 0"- and "cmd.php 2 2"-calls. "cmd.php 1 1" remains silent. (<-- dunno, if this helps)
As I said, all polling works perfectly, but that error is still annoying and I'm not sure if there's a critical problem I should fix.
Thanks in advance,
Chacabaou
Error in log, but polling works

Reduce the number of concurrent processes to 1 or 2 and this will remove the error message. Unfortunately, there are some situations when these error messages are unavoidable for now.
It's a long story but harmless

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?

This problem will disappear as you add more hosts to the system (statistically that is).
