Ability to update query_ifAlias..

Post by skatter »

When creating new graphs for a Cisco device that does not have any interface descriptions, the SNMP graph template selects a template based on the lack of query_ifAlias. The problem is, if I go and add an interface description, the graph never updates because it is using a different SNMP graph template.

I'd like an automated way to update the graph description if a new ifAlias is added to the device, so that a simple SNMP re-poll will select the correct SNMP graph description template. Right now it seems that I have to go into the data sources manually and update the graph description field.

Thanks,

Yes, that would be very cool.

There is already a festure to do so. First, you must edit the Interface Data Query and then for each graph type, add the ifAlias query.

Then from the "Graphs" section, select the graphs that you want to change the titles on and from the drop down, select "Reapply Suggested Name" and like magic, all the ifAliases will magically appear... I wrote it myself.
