Graphs get deleted
Some graphs get deleted for bandwidth monitoring and i only have the last two days for them.
This is happening on some of them, not all the graphs.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Cacti version?
Who else has admin access to the server?
Using rrdclean plugin per chance?

0.8.7i
Who else has admin access to the server?
We have a user who creates other users and unknowingly he created a bunch of users as Admin users and after that things started getting screwed up. We change that and the users have view only rights now.

rrdclean plugin is not enabled nor installed.
I have the graphs for the last two days and they keep recycling without viewing the data from older days. And this does not happen in all of them, but just a few.
Thank you for your post!
Re: Graphs get deleted
Your install is several years old... 0.8.8c is the latest.
With an unknown number of junior Admins running amuk, there can be numerous problems... Sounds like someone possibly changed the default RRA settings, so new graphs (aka data sources and rrd files) used the new defaults with a less data retention. The defaults: http://docs.cacti.net/manual:088:8_rrdtool#rrd_files

Re: Graphs get deleted
Here is what i have. And the thing is that how come it's happening in only some of the graphs? This should affect all of them.

Re: Graphs get deleted
I checked, double checked, triple checked and compared the graphs that are OK with the ones that are not, and did not find anything wired.
Re: Graphs get deleted
1) are you certain those interfaces had traffic that cacti collected back on Monday?
2) run 'rrdtool info' for the associated *.rrd files for a graph with and without this issue. The config parameters the same? http://docs.cacti.net/manual:088:4_help.2_debugging

Re: Graphs get deleted
1) Yes i am. 100%
2) The thing is that my cacti is on windows and not linux.

Re: Graphs get deleted
For #2, nearly the same commands and troubleshooting steps apply though... specifically for you to follow the 'rrdtool info' section.

Re: Graphs get deleted
I recreated the graphs and it seems to be working. I had to delete the folders where rrd files were located for those particular graphs in order for that to work. Only deleting from Cacti with the data didn't work.

Re: Graphs get deleted
Glad it's working. Correct, Cacti will not delete *.rrd files when a data source is removed (yet).exhako wrote:I recreated the graphs and it seems to be working.
