Softflowd always down

I've installed softflowd for the plugin flowview. However, I found the softflowd daemon down frequently.

It show me "softflowd dead but pid file exists", I have to start the service again. Did anyone have the same issue?

If softflowd is not compatible with Cacti, can anyone recommend another stable netflow tools to me?

OS: Centos 6.5
Cacti version: 0.8.8b
Softflowd version: 0.9.9

The stability problems aren't because of Cacti, you would have to look into those yourself. Your real problem will be that the flowview plugin only works with FlowTools, it relies specifically on the format it outputs and its binary files.

Yes, you're right. When I install flowview plugin with softflowd. Softflowd will be down after frequently. Because I can find another tutorial people install flowview plugin with softflowd. So, I haven't realize softflowd have the compatible issue with flowview plugin. I will try to install flow-tools as follow:
