Moving the database

Post by jjancel »

Cacti .8.7i running on an earlier version of CactiEZ.

One of the system administrators decided to move the database from the cacti server to another server a couple of years ago. Everything has been running fine but now we need to move it back to the local cacti server. I stop the poller, dump the database from the other server, import the database and modify the config.php and global.php file to point to the local server. However, when I start polling again, it tells me "POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 58 seconds exceeded. Exiting." And none of my graphs update. Since it works when it is pointing to the other server I don't think any of the other troubleshooting tips are applicable here?

What am I missing?

Thanks,

Well I finally got around to figuring out what the problem was. /usr/local/spine/spine.conf had also been changed to point to the different database server. When I changed that back to the local server. Everything worked again.
