SNMP Not Found Cisco 6513

Post by mrscary »

hey all
im running cacti on windows.. Everything is working 100%.. except.. I cannot pull interfaces from the Cisco 6513.
Ive imported various templates.. CPU , Temp, backplane, etc all work.. just not interfaces..
in doing an SNMP walk I get:
Running data query [1].
+ Found type = '3' [SNMP Query].
+ Found data query XML file at 'C:/inetpub/wwwroot/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP get for num of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.1.0' Index Count: 409
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1' Index Count: 0
+ No SNMP data returned

doing some googling for the last 3 hours, I find this:
When you want to add to your Cacti tree bandwidth graph, there can be typical problems involve the following errors:

"No SNMP data returned" (from verbose query in the devices detail)

No data returned while running snmpwalk -v 1 -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1

General problems getting Interface - Traffic graphs to work

The problem resides in the permissions for SNMP version 1 users in the /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf file

You need to change the following limits:

view systemview included .1.3.6.1.2.1.1

view systemview included .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.1

to:

view systemview included .1.3.6.1.2.1

view systemview included .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.1

which is great.. HOWEVER.. that refers to such a file on a LINUX or UNIX box.. not my good ole windows box.. does anyone have a clue where to look, or what to change? its driving me nutsoroni

Would it be easier if you just switched to snmp 2 instead?

On Windows, that path typically resides at C:\net-snmp\etc\snmp\, but it really depends where
1) net-snmp was installed
2) where php.ini snmp extension is configured to use.

I used the template for 6513 with SNMP v2.
The SNMP config of the 6513 is correct? Are you sure? An snmpwalk give some result?
Now I'm not at office but tomorrow I could see better the configuration that I use in cacti and the config inside 6513.

I used this template http://forums.cacti.net/about4844.html with SNMP V2.
Let me know if you have some problem.
