Please help!! Keep showing NaN in the rrd file
Hi all,
Recently I make a data query for iDrac power status as attached "idrac_psupply.xml". And I make a data template and graph template for this data query but there is no output on the graph The title of the chart "psName" is correctly read and the xml file parsed well as following. However, the "psVoltage" (output direction) does not shown on the chart and when I check the rrd file in linux using rrdtool, it lists below: I search the forum and find that the problem may be contributed by permission problem and I changed the log and rrd directory to 777 but the problem still existed...very frustrated after trying for several weeks hope someone can offer his help

Your graph has a value it is 0.
Can you do snmpwalk and copy here?
Can you show your data template and data query?
Can you double check in the data template and in the graph template which is the value on the max value?

Attached the completed log of the rrdtool output, there is one line in between have value of zero.

Re: Please help!! Keep showing NaN in the rrd file
In the data template set the Maximum to 0.
In your graph template you have the Upper Limit set to 100, change it to 0 (no limit), in your snmpwalk you have values as 262 so the values will not be plotted.
If this doesn't solve your problem, could you change the cacti log to debug and check if the values are being returned correctly by the poller?
Also which version of cacti are you using?

Hi,
I tried changing the data template and graph template upper limit but still cannot solve the problem.
And I set the "Poller Specific Logging" - Poller Logging Level to Debug and then look at the log

Re: Please help!! Keep showing NaN in the rrd file
Did you recreate the graph after changing the data template? If not please recreate the graph.
And let the data template with Max == 0; the graph template Upper Limit == 0.
U means that cacti is not understanding the data that came from the server, that' s why you have NaN, the strange part is that you have the correct snmpwalk.
Also it would be good to update cacti for the last version, probably not related with your problem, but there is a lot fixes in the last releases.

problem still there after recreate the graphs.
Re: Please help!! Keep showing NaN in the rrd file
Can you change the Upper Limit and the Max to 1000000, and recreate the graph?
Also check the cacti.log again to see what is going on.

Still return U for the corresponding oid, should it be the problem of my data query xml file?
