Directions for XP and Apache, should i post them?

Post by khutton »

I have gotten the basic app up and running, I have changed the password and can access my cacti site to be specific, on my XP box using this lineup:

Apache 2.0.36 (win32)
cacti 0.6.8
mysql 3.23.51
php 4.2.1
rrdtool 1.0.38

I have yet to get cacti to look at any of my devices but was wondering if any one would like some instructions on how I got to this point. I have read many posts about needing and wanting reliable windows instructions but I am not sure if my input is needed. I received some help building my setup and would like to help others if they need it. Any opinions?

Thanks

If your directions differ from the INSTALL-WIN32 version, feel free to post. Also if you post your copy, I'll do my best to merge any useful additions that you may have added.

First I would like to thank raX for his help and this very, very nice application. I would also like to thank Jeff for his time and efforts in helping me with my installation.

I have gotten the build working on my XP box and will generate some install instructions in great detail. I plan on moving this app to a Win2K server and will make sure to reproduce the directions in the same detail for the Win2K sever. The directions shouldn't be different........ but this is Windows.
