Aggregate sum?

Post by ntrc »

hi I'm trying to create an aggregate graph of 3 data sources, data source is from the Cisco catalyst switch 3560. For use on an Internet exchange point Fiber optic ports 1, 2 and 3 .

what is the best way to present the data pulled from these data sources to one graph, showing only incoming and outgoing bandwidth.

The aggregate plugin does just what you want.

See http://docs.cacti.net/plugin:aggregate

If you to the aggregate plugin page referenced above, there's a user manual. Page 23 of the manual has instructions on how to aggregate interface graphs.

I realize that I'm not answering your question and my responses could be taken as RTFM. Please don't think that's the case, it's just that the manual explains it so well.

Let me know if you look at the manual and the process is unclear.

Also in a somewhat unrelated yet related post... Cacti has the options of exporting locally or via FTP..
however when the exporting process runs, it runs as successful, when i look at the log file i see this result in the /var/log/cacti/cacti.log file as shown in the picture below, however when i open said folder (directory) its either empty, or it only contains one .png picture of the graphs, the others are missing.....

I've given chmod 777 to the directory so i know its not a permission issue.... need help pls..

Try using settings as in the attached.

This will take the data source and stack em up on each other. And also total inbound and outbound separately.

Does this help?
