collecting and graphing TED5000 energy usage

I found the following site (http://www.manteuffel.us/KB/Wiki%20Page ... Cacti.aspx) that details how to poll the TED5000 (http://www.theenergydetective.com) for power, cost and voltage readings. I followed the steps very carefully, but for whatever reason cannot seem to get Cacti to work with the data.

Taking a look in the cacti.log, I do see the following:

However, when I look at the rrd files, they never seem to change size. I have to admit a limited knowledge of the workings of Cacti/rrd_tool, but was hoping someone could point me to possible avenues of debugging.
