Data Query in "New Graphs" menu may not be initial

Post by Didier »

Data Query in "New Graphs" menu may not be initialized automatically in some case
=================================================================================

Release tested: cacti-0.8.6b.zip

Minor bug: because work around by clicking on "run this data query in debug mode" hyperlink than coming back to New Graph menu

From a Windows XP box ; I have followed as much as possible the first steps of the documentation

1. Install a fresh Cacti instance (from cacti-0.8.6b.zip downloaded)

2. Goto to Devices
- Remove "All Associated Data Queries" and "Associated Data Graphs"

3. Choose "Host Template" = Windows 2000/XP hosts
- Click on Save
- Don't forget to pur the community

4. Goto Create / New Graphs
- You will see for all Data Query "This data query returned 0 rows, perhaps there was a problem executing this data query. You can run this data query in debug mode to get more information."
- Then click on "run this data query in debug mode" in "SNMP - Get Mounted Partitions" DatQuery Part
---> You will see the request can retrieve the partitions

5. Goto to Create / New Graphs again
- Now the "SNMP - Get Mounted Partitions" DatQuery Part is displaying some graphs !!!!

It seems like there is an initialization problem of "Data Query" when Create / New Graphs is called
(a request procedure of Data Query is certainly missing, or is taking too long regarding to the display of the New Graph panel)

Since step 5 allows to solve the problem it is a minor bug
