Cacti graphs not shown --help !!!

Post by ptsiaras »

Hello,
I am new with Cacti, but I can say it is fantastic. I am using for long time mrtg, rrdtool and many of RRDTool frond ends.

I am using :
OS : Solaris 2.6, RRD :1.0.48, PHP : 4.3.2, Mysql : 3.23.53,
and web server iPlanet 4.0SP3

The problem is that the graphs are not shown. The rrd is reporting "ok" when debuging is enabled. No logs are in the web server.
I change the permitions in rra & log directories but without results.
Any help ?
A question in which directories the png images are created ?
Note that php is installed before mysql, cacti. Should I reinstall it ?

Kind Regards
Paschalis

ps I post this again. I hope for an answer ..

what is shown? just the text ?
are you rrd files being updated?
Do you have png libraries loaded? Can you see other .png images on your web server?

more questions....
what does the rrd.log say? is it getting updated

Also, you may want to check perms & ownership of the rra & log dirs

You can check in my initial mail that the rrd is saying ok and the file permittions are 777.
This is the reason I am worrying !

I'm having the same symptoms.

My poller.php/cmd.php is correctly updating the RRD files and exporting graphs, however when looking in the trees, I am not seeing any dynamically generated graphs. No errors in the logs to work with either.

Platform: OpenBSD 3.6, PHP-4.3.8, RRD-1.0.48, Apache-1.29 (Chroot), MSQL-4.0.2

Same problem here. Using SuSE Linux 8.2

No errors, the images are simply red-X's, but all graphs are being created correctly according to Cacti. I just can't see them.
danno

same problem no graphing

This happened to me when i upgraded cacti... i did everything it said in the upgrade guide (yeah right) and still no graphs. i noticed that in mine the rrd files aren't updating properly and there is only a cacti.log file, no other log files... are these good clues, because i'm stuck.

In order to see the dynamically generated graphs when Apache is running in a chroot'ed environment, you have to copy the /bin/sh shell in the chroot'ed environment.

For OpenBSD this as simple as :
mkdir /var/www/bin
cp /bin/sh /var/www/bin/

Taken from the php system command manual : http://php.net/system
