Tuning the spline poller, too many devices?

Post by strongepoxy »

I have 32 identically configured Linux servers as devices with identical cacti device configurations queried with spline and SNMPv3. I'm using default templates.

16 of the 32 are 'up' and are being graphed. The other 16 are 'down' and are not being graphed. Cacti can query SNMP on these 'down' machines from the console. There are no SNMP errors.

After marking the 16 'up' servers as 'disabled,' the servers that were 'down' are now being graphed and are 'up.'

What polling configuration should I use that can handle more than 16 devices?

I'm using the 'yum install' version of Cacti Version 0.8.8b
