It's possible?

Post by progloverfan »

Hi all. I wanted to know if I can use cacti to retrieve information about the signal power in real time of multiple clients that connect to an access point through a trap generated by an agent via net-snmp.
I'm using the following trap: snmptrap -v 1 -c public 192.168.1.25 '1.2.3.4.5.6' '192.168.1.1' 6 99 '55' 1.11.12.13.14.15 s "hello world" that is basically a string but instead I replace the "hello world" with the signal avg power, maybe I need to convert that value to an integer because of that cacti can act correctly.
It's possible?

Why using a TRAP?
In case you have a private MIB, featuring this data, use that.
In case you need to apply an SNMP "extend", use that (not as fast as the method above)
