Poller Cache doesn't populate with the Data Source

Hi All,

I am at my wits end here , have spent considerable time today on this today and still struggling, i would be very grateful if you could help put this misery to end.

using the SNMP Generic OID template to generate a graph. Have created the Data source out of the data template and then created a Graph from the associated Graph template, but nothing happens after that.

i can't see the Poller cache picking up the new DS or the RRD created for this DS, totally stumped why its not working!!..

Cacti Version - Version 0.8.8a

There are no errors in the cacti log to indicated any mistakes that i may have done.

One thing which i did observed and seemed bit quirky was - when creating the graph template the Data Source Path was empty intially (although the debug command showed that the RRD), once clicked on Save and re-entering the DS populated it though -- strange this didn't happen in any other DS with graphs working but is not happening with any new ones i create .. is this normal?

i don't seem to comprehend why the poller_item table isn't populating with the entry for my data source. i have checked both the below tables which as per schema interlinks to the poller_item table. what should i check next? i don't want to purge the database and lose the worthwhile data in there to fix this. Kindy assist.

Did you copy the generic oid data template or create it from scratch or "overwrote" it?

Hi R,

Did all, first duplicated and checked if the poller was seeing the datasource, it didn't so edited the basic SNMP OID template directly, still no joy.

I fear, that you now are far away from a default setup.
In case you are able to start with a fresh database, please follow http://docs.cacti.net/manual:088:3_temp ... _templates to create a new SNMP data template
