npc plugin not pulling any data from nagios xi 20212 r2

has anyone successfully been able to get cacti to poll data from nagios xi rrd files.
i've got latest cacti installed and working with npc.
but i don't see npc pulling all the hosts, services, etc, from nagios
what step am i missing, i following the following guide.
btw, i have nagios xi, which has ndo2db, nagios utils and pnp4nagios already
