Hello.
I have Centos 6.4 on a server which is installed Cacti 0.8.8a version, the problem is when you create a new chart as I get the following error:
RRDTool Says:
ERROR: opening '/ usr/share/cacti/rra/sat_sw_traffic_in_392.rrd': Permission denied
Apparently the problem is that apache does not have permission to access that file, so change the permissions on the file so too as throughout the rra folder, but the problem persists.
the poller.php not have any problem because the run does not give any errors.
When you run the command tail / var / log / httpd / error_log I get the following result:
ERROR: opening '/ usr/share/cacti/rra/sat_sw_traffic_in_392.rrd': Permission denied
ERROR: opening '/ usr/share/cacti/rra/sat_sw_traffic_in_392.rrd': Permission denied
ERROR: opening '/ usr/share/cacti/rra/sat_sw_traffic_in_392.rrd': Permission denied
It mensionar I've changed the permissions to the apache user and the problem persists.
In advance many thanks

Re: RRDTools say Permission denied
This is my setup:
# cat /etc/sysconfig/selinux
# This file controls the state of SELinux on the system.
# SELINUX= can take one of these three values:
# enforcing - SELinux security policy is enforced.
# permissive - SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing.
# disabled - SELinux is fully disabled.
SELINUX=enforcing
# SELINUXTYPE= type of policy in use. Possible values are:
# targeted - Only targeted network daemons are protected.
# strict - Full SELinux protection.
SELINUXTYPE=targeted
