snmp memAvailReal problem

Post by Entity »

Hi all

I'm trying to graph the free memory of my server with snmp. I tried using ucd/net - Memory - Free and Linux - Memory - Free and created a own snmp data source but all share the same problem:

10/02/2004 01:47:14 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[1] SNMP: v1: 127.0.0.1, dsname: mem_free, oid: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.6.0, output: 7248

10/02/2004 01:47:14 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[1] CMD: perl /var/www/html/cacti/scripts/linux_memory.pl MemFree:, output: 7248

All snmp queries show the same value. When I cross check my free memory at the same time with snmpget or free command I receive wildly different values which seem to be not related to the ones the Poller optained.

# snmpget -v 1 -c mrtg_ro localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.6.0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::memAvailReal.0 = INTEGER: 21980

# free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 512784 490804 21980 0 58908 111792

I'm using:
Cacti v0.8.6 final release
NET-SNMP v5.0.9

Any idea would be really appreciated and thanks for this cool tool and the work you put into this project. 0.8.6 is a very nice step forward from 0.8.5.

Regards,

Thilo
