syslog for only localhost

dear all

i have downloaded Cactiez 7 and installed,i am able to generate the graphs for my devices, and hostmib also working fine, but i am having the problem with syslog. rsyslog is working but syslog-ng is not working, syslog-ng it is showing in the webmin , this message

" The system logging daemon syslog-ng was not found on your system, or is not the syslog-ng program. Adjust the module configuration to use the correct path."

and i configured the correct path its showing service not find .. in the with rsyslog i am getting only the local host logs .


can any one guide me should i proced with rsyslog or syslog-ng. guide how to configure them . i googled for the solution but i am fully confused ..

please guide
