Hello all, I am new to cacti and weathermap but I am liking it so far. I have my inital weather map and it looks pretty good except I dont think the links are reporting the right bandwidth usage. I can fire up a dvd download and the link never goes beyond purple. How do you get the correct bandwith usage reported in the links?
I have 5 1G switch(s) 2x 48 port and 3x 24 port uplinks 1 4G quad server uplink and a 20Mb/s fiber connection. None of these seem to be reporting the right usage.

Re: Network Weathermap and Bandwidth
Anyone? There is no way my weathermap is reporting correct usage. It never goes above 10/15% even when I saturate the network with a large transfer.

Re: Network Weathermap and Bandwidth
Do the cacti graphs look ok? They use the same data files...
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Re: Network Weathermap and Bandwidth
The graphs report the same as the maps. Everthing looks ok, just that the usage is way below what I expected. I know we are hitting the network harder than what is being reported. Not sure how to resolve this.

Re: Network Weathermap and Bandwidth
How do you know?
What is your other source for the same information?
(also, don't forget that Cacti averages over 5 minutes, so unless your big transfer lasts a while, it will show a lower value)
