New skin

Post by NegativeEpsilon »

We at NIL Data Communications are offering Cacti to some of our customers as a managed service. Since it's very important that webapps look shiny nowadays, we've put in some effort into making the interface more "modern".
I'm attaching some screenshots below.

Some of you may recognise Bootstrap . This also means that some of the HTML had to be rewritten to accomodate the CSS changes. Core team: would you be interested in accepting a pull request? Note that it may take some additional time, because first we have to upgrade our codebase from 0.8.7i to the current version.

How does this pick up the names for tabs from plugins? (just thinking about what i need to do to support it as a plugin developer)
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

I'd assume if it's compatible with the jqueryskin plugin from CactEZ it works as well.

At least weathermap works with my new playground .... http://www.cereus-monitoring.com/gallery.php

We are heading at the same goal and are going to put more effort into moving layouts more and more into css.
So I forwarded this to the rest of the dev team

I'd very much like to see this skin available for download. Cacti is a superb and extremely powerful system, but the interface looks slightly....well, "dated" (not wanting to cause offence to the DEV's :D )

Would also love to hear from the DEV guys if theming will be supported going forward ?

Thanks

Yes please!

Love it. Would really be interested in seeing an architecture in place to drop in theme files.

Some news about this ? I've been using Cacti for a long time now, but I'm really disappointed with the interface because it doesn't really represent the quality of the software. If you need some donation or other help, tell us.

There will be many, many changes coming with 0.8.8d,
which will include at a minimum 3 themes, too. ;)

Thanks Andi! Do you have information about the release date of this version? I think that your roadmap is not updated:
