Cacti 0.8.7b and Cisco 2821 router

I am trying to use Cacti and Cisco 2600-3600 router template to monitor CPU and memory and I keep getting:
UDP ping Timed out (other ping options fail as well)
I can ping the router from the Linux Ubuntu server command line.

I have Cisco 4900M & 2960g switches monitored with Cisco Catalyst 4500 and Cisco 2900-3500 templates with no issues.

Any ideas why? Anyone?

Without looking into why the router doesn't respond with the UDP ping, you could change the ping type globally:

Go to Console -> Settings -> Poller -> Ping Type.
