Hi, I'm having trouble setting up a ping latency graph. Here's what the log shows...
05/03/2013 04:30:04 PM - SPINE: Poller[0] Host[2] TH[1] Total Time: 0.26 Seconds
05/03/2013 04:30:04 PM - SPINE: Poller[0] Host[2] TH[1] DS[9] SCRIPT: /usr/bin/perl /var/www/cacti/scripts/ping.pl xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, output: U
05/03/2013 04:30:04 PM - SPINE: Poller[0] Host[2] ERROR: Empty result [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]: '/usr/bin/perl /var/www/cacti/scripts/ping.pl xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx'
I can copy and paste this command and it actually responds back...
root@raspberrypi:/home/pi# /usr/bin/perl /var/www/cacti/scripts/ping.pl xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
20.6root@raspberrypi:/home/pi#
20.6 I guess is the milliseconds but this doesn't show up on the graph. It's all NaN.
Any suggestions/comments? This is spine/cacti 0.8.8a

Re: Spine Error Empty Result ping.pl U
I figured it out. The crontab user was using a user without proper permission so I either had to fix the user or use one that did have permission (i.e. root user). Thanks to this post which helped me figure it out... http://forums.cacti.net/about36935.html

Re: Spine Error Empty Result ping.pl U
Just wanted to say I tried to follow the post you listed, but I couldn't get the permissions correct for www-data (or didn't know where exactly they needed to be applied)....I was able to correct the issue by running the cron job as root.
Thanks
