Data Input Method which requires User String

Post by markbusu2 »

Hey guys,

Im currently working on a new graph which would require the user to input a queue name in the graph template:

<path_cacti>/scripts/check_rmq_queue_messages.sh <queue> <hostname>

I would like to create a number of Graphs with different queue names (Script requires 2 arguments, the queue name and the hostname)

Im trying to find a way when creating the graph via the graph template to ask the user what is the queue name for the graph being created... Is this in the Graph Item Inputs?

How can i ask the user to add the queue name and map it to the <queue> input ? Also, how can i use the <queue> variable in the Graph Title so:

|host_description| - RMQ <queue> Count

thanks,

Hi,

Here you'll find a good how-to :)
http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:3a_adv ... ut_methods

if you don't specify "special type code" in the Inputs Fields, the user will be asked to fill it.

I'm trying too to re-use this variable, in the title of the data source/graph.
If anyone could help us :)

EDIT: guess i found smthg:
