Monitor Plugin Help

I recently installed the cacti plugin to use the monitor to see if my devices are working or not, but my device always gives message Unknown, never is Up or Down, I need help for this Monitor Plugin work properly!

Is it about a single device being unknown or all your devices you are monitoring? Can you provide a screen shot? How do you monitor the device? ICMP? SNMP? Does it have installed SNMPd (service) on it? Is it activated? Is the firewall allowing 161/udp? How do you deliver yourself notifications? Do you have settings plugin installed?
