Hello everyone,
We are using Cacti 0.8.8a right now. It is polling the traffic information in 5 min. intervals. But we wanna see the max and min. values "IN" that 5 minute interval. Cacti is showing the 5 min. average of the traffic. If we set the polling interval to 10-20 sec. vs. the server can not handle this much operation. For example Solarwinds Orion is presenting both 5 min. averages and max min. values in that interval but Cacti is not.
Is that possible? Thank you.
Polling and caching realtime instead of 5 minute average?

Re: Polling and caching realtime instead of 5 minute average
You can get down to 1 minute polling interval which would then show you the min/max data as well as the average.

I assume in 1 minute setting. System shows 1 minute average AND min. max values too?phalek wrote:You can get down to 1 minute polling interval which would then show you the min/max data as well as the average.

It does. Unless you zoom in and only view at a 1 minute interval, where MIN = MAX = AVERAGE.
If you look at 5 minutes, you will see the average over that 5 minutes, as well as the MIN and a MAX value, which could be from any of the 5 polls within that 5 minute interval

Re: Polling and caching realtime instead of 5 minute average
Thank you for your aid but I realize a new problem. When i choose the Settings/Poller/Cron Interval to 1 minutes. The graphs are gone. They only created in 5 minutes mode. And in 5 minutes mode my graphs are created with average value as earlier.phalek wrote:It does. Unless you zoom in and only view at a 1 minute interval, where MIN = MAX = AVERAGE.

What are the Poller interval, cron interval and Default RRA values in graph settings exactly mean?
