One Data Source, Seven graphs - one rrd file?

Post by coolex »

Hi,
i have a few devices what i can monitor by TCP socket connection, but i can have only one concurrent connection on device.
I made PHP script what can download seven values from device and give it to cacti.
In cacti i made data input method and (for a start) two graph templates.
Everything looks fine, but cacti generates two same RRD files and I am afraid that Cacti trigger the script twice.

What must I do for it to Cacti script starts only once and created only one RRD file?

Thanks for help.

Hi,
I have a little progress.
I have one data input method with seven output fields,
I have one data template with seven data source items and
I have seven graph templates.

In device i was added just only one associated graph template (it doesn't matter whitch one of the seven) and I was created graph.
Then I was manualy create graphs (in graph management) for the remaining six values which I want to track.

Does anyone have any idea how those graphs do not create manually one by one?

Thanks for your help.

This is a known drawback.
Manual workaround: only create the first graph as usual.
Create next graphs from Graph Management, Add, select host and graph template, then select the already created data source.
Bad, I know.
Code contributions to fix this are welcomed
