Custom Field(SNMP Query) in Graph Title?

Post by shelly17 »

Hi, I am pretty to new to Cacti, so apologize any "dumb" questions.

My company uses Cacti to monitor several devices, a couple of them are Brocade Switches which have port names.
I would like to have this port names in the graph title. On Cisco Devices I use |query_ifDescr| for that but on the Brocade Switches I need "swFCPortName" (OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.1588.2.1.1.1.6.2.1.36)
So I tried |query_swFCPortName| which is not working (Output= "|query_swFCPortName|")
Where can I define that Cacti is querying the PortName via SNMP and puts it into the Graph Title?
Do I need an addon or do I have to define it in an XML at e.g. /resource/snmp_queries/brocade.xml?

Are the variables like |query_ifDescr| or |query_ifAlias| (...and so on) standard variables or are they defined anywhere?

TIA

Those query names originate from the backing SNMP Data Query XML file. See http://docs.cacti.net/manual:088:3a_adv ... alkthrough for pointers.

I have run into this issue too, but also found that swFCPortName is blank on our fabrics. Did you resolve this?
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
