Weather-Map version 0.97a on cacti version 0.8.8

I am trying to install Weather-map V0.97 on cacti V0.8.8, I am facing a problem:

"This editor is not finished! There are many features of Weathermap that you will be missing out on if you choose to use the editor only.These include: curves, node offsets, font definitions, color changing, per-node/per-link settings and image uploading. You CAN use the editor without damaging these features if you added them by hand, however."

So I need the steps for adding the missing features by hand.

Edit the map config file with a text editor.
