Spine and Thold

I will need help, I install Cacti on my Ubuntu Server 12.10 for monitoring my APC UPS on our network. But I could not get the spine to work on my Ubuntu Cacti Server. I will need this help from anyone. I also have problem configuring my thold for the APC UPS.

So, how did you install Cacti? Via the ubuntu repositories?

Does cacti work if you are not using spine, but cmd.php?

Any error's in the log files?
