HTTP500 error with no errors logged

I am running Ubuntu 12.10 Cacti 8.8a and weathermap .97a. I installed Cacti using the package manager and then installed weathermap using the instructions posted on the weathermap site.

After hunting down and debugging a few database issues, everything seems to be working (I am getting: WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] STATS: Weathermap 0.97a run complete - Thu, 25 Oct 12 16:46:32 +0000: 0 maps were run in 0 seconds with 0 warnings. messages in the logs) but the settings page gives me a 500 error and the weathermaps tab gives me a blank screen. No errors are logged in the log.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could cause this?
