ubuntu not showing network data.

Post by mamoman »

Hi,

I have an cacti up and running, and trying to collect data from another machine which is a fresh Ubuntu 12.04 server
Full SNMP access is given as far as I can see.
In cacti I can see memory, and users logged in, but not any network data.
it recognizes the loopback, eth0, - eth3 but no data on it ?

here is my info
root@ecg:~# snmpwalk -c xxxxxxx -v 1 127.0.0.1 .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1

Am I missing something ?
All help appreciated.

PS, yes, there is data going over loopback and eth0 as I am connected via putty to this machine

oke, I did some more research and found some data back on a different place.

if I look at my interface
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 68:b5:99:c5:4e:50
inet addr:x.x.x.x Bcast:x.x.x.x Mask:255.255.255.248
inet6 addr: x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:376519 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:364382 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:155854963 (155.8 MB) TX bytes:129112239 (129.1 MB)
Interrupt:30 Memory:f4000000-f4012800

then I can find the TX bytes back at
.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.2

and my RX bytes at
.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.2

Where do I set these values in the data template of this item ?
And are these the values I need ???

See attachement ?
