Custom presets graphs view issue

Hi, I am trying to view graphs for a particular duration of time say from 09/17/12 09:30am to 09/17/12 12:00pm. I tried choosing the custom preset option and then the duration but I am am not able see the graphs accordingly. I can see the graphs for the previous day when I use left and right arrow(<-- -->), but again when I change the timings on it I am not able to see the graphs. It would be really helpful if somebody could help me with this. My version of cacti is 0.8.7h. Thanks !!

I just tried this one mine, and I agree it can be a bit confusing.
Choose the custom pulldown, then the proper date range. After that, since you are trying to see a timespan of about 3.5 hours, choose 4 hours from the pulldown between the <-- and --> arrows. That sets the span of time the graph will show. It's kind of wonky, I agree, but this should get you what you want to see.

Thanks for the reply. I tried your way of viewing the graphs. I doesn't work for me. My cacti's custom preset doesn't work properly. Just to be sure I tried it out in another cacti. In that cacti I can see the graphs only if I don't change time. For example when I set the preset to custom, change the dates to 9/17/12 11:30(current time today) to 09/17/12 11:30(current time today) and <-- 4hours -->, I can see the graphs when I use the direction buttons. But when I change the time to 9/17/12 09:30(time duration that I want) to 09/17/12 12:30(time duration that I want), it doesn't work. It defaults back to 9/17/12 11:30(current time today) to 09/17/12 11:30(current time today).

It might be a problem in that version of code..you'll see to look through the bug reports to confirm. It does work in 0.8.8a

I tried upgrading but no luck. I had pluggin thold installed initially, so I tried removing the pluggins. But it still doesn't work !

Time range display is not related to plugins.
Please clarify, what you want to see. Do you need a preset of "Last 4 Hours" or what?

Ok, let's say that the current time is 09/29/2012 13:37.

If I want to view graphs with a 4 hour range from the past up until now (which is what I assume you want), I need to do the following:

- Presets -> Choose "Last 4 Hours"
- Voilá, now my graphs show a time range from 09/29/2012 09:37 to 09/29/2012 13:37.

Now, let's say that the time in between arrows is set to 30 Min (my graphs are still showing from 09/29/2012 09:37 to 09/29/2012 13:37):
- If I press the left arrow, my graphs now move 30 minutes backwards
- They are now showing from 09/29/2012 09:07 to 09/29/2012 13:07.

I hope it helps you to understand it.

EDIT: Also, if you want your graphs to display time ranges including dates in the future, you need to go to Console -> Utilities -> User Management -> Select User -> Graph Settings -> Allow Graph to extend to the future.

Changing to ANY preset just refreshes the page but the graphs always show 1 day. I can't make it any longer or shorter. I can click and drag in a graph and all the graphs on the page refresh but load the exact same 1 day timespan. I can type time and hit refresh, the page refreshes but its ALWAYS showing 1 day.

This is in Google Chrome or Edge Chromium. Havent tried any other browser. I know it used to work.

Please don't necro 8 year old threads, instead look at all the very recent threads on this exact issue and then apply this fix.
