Need Help: Graph not update

Hi,

I got a problem with the poller. Some graph could updated without problem but most are not. When I use the manually, I got the following error:


ERROR: illegal attempt to update using time 1347755120 when last update time is 1347786011 (minimum one second step)
ERROR: illegal attempt to update using time 1347755423 when last update time is 1347786011 (minimum one second step)
ERROR: illegal attempt to update using time 1347755120 when last update time is 1347786607 (minimum one second step)
ERROR: illegal attempt to update using time 1347755423 when last update time is 1347786607 (minimum one second step)
ERROR: illegal attempt to update using time 1347755120 when last update time is 1347786011 (minimum one second step)

I did a search and found most of the cause is duplicate poller running or wrong clock setting. But from my output, it seem that cacti using different "old" timestamp to update exsting file. I have not hint, can anyone help? Thanks a lot.

Yep, this is usually a double poller issue. See cron log to make sure this is not the case. Else, you have an issue with e.g. timezone

Hi,

I had fixed the issue. It is not double poller problem. It is due to the poller_output table become too large. The service back to normal after I clean the table.

BTW, I still receive " POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 292 seconds exceeded. Exiting. " sometime. I am planning to newer version from 0.8.6j.

Out of curiosity, are you running spine or cmd.php?

I am running cactid. After 1 week running, it have 28 rows in poller_output table now.

Oh man..I just realized how old your version is. Any chance to upgrade? I can't really help much with the older versions using cactid.

Yes . I had put it in my plan, still studying how will this affect our customization. Shell I jump to 0.8.8a directly?

I personally don't know if you can upgrade from 0.8.7j to 0.8.8a directly. You'd need to search around a bit for that.

Maybe gandalf can answer that!?

You always can update across multiple versions. This feature has been added years ago ...

Hi,

I have cacti showing delay graph for about an hour, also when i check the system clock also delayed of the same as with cacti. Just want to know what services I need to consider when i set the system clock or does correcting the system clock will resolve the issue.. Please advice.

We recommend using UTC system clock and setting timezone in php.ini.
