Cacti not generating RRD files

Post by lwmiller »

Hi,
I just did a fresh install of Cacti 0.8.8a on a CentOS machine and things went fairly smooth, but there are no RRD files in rra. I enabled debug on the graphs and this message was returned.
ERROR: opening '/var/www/html/cacti/rra/localhost_load_1min_5.rrd': No such file or directory

If I run the command from the comnand line, it returns the same error.

I created the file manually and changed the permissions, but then it gives me a "Cannot allocate memory" error. The memory settings in my php.ini are 128meg.

Running php 5.3.3(from the CentOS install)
Permissions on rra are
drwxr-xr-x. 2 cactiuser apache 4096 Sep 13 12:15 rra

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Leonard

By the way, this is with the default configuration. I have not added any hosts or made any changes to the default settings.

Thanks,

Ok, I was able to get the RRDs generated by going to Data Sources, enabling debug and running the command from the cli, but the files are not updating.

I will look throug the forums, but if anybody knows why, please let me know.

Thanks,
Leonard

I think this migh be fixed. I changed the permission on the directory and it started writing the files and it appears the graphs are updating.

I will post again if there are any issues, but if I don't then I'm good.
