Grid units

Post by dploeger »

Hi!

I simply don't get it. It seems, I'm to plain dumb ;-)

I've searched the board and the lists, but I didn't find a solve to this problem:

Creating a simple graph with cacti, I get an output with a grid and two units showing 0, 50 and 100 on the Y-axis.

Now, what I want is that cacti displays every 10th step. So it displays 0,10,20,30 and so on on the Y-axis and I'd also like to change the steps (units??), the grid displays.

Hope you can help me.

Thanks.

:( Nothing?? Not possible.

I'm currently evaluating cacti as the main tool for graphing in our company and I would really like to change the grid...

dploeger,

If you would like to track this issue, I suggest you goto http://www.rrdtool.org and check the features/documentation section. Tobi has a 1.1 version in the works. However, it does not appear to be getting any attention right now nor was I able to track down specifications. Heck, it might even be stable and your feature might even be available for all I know.

Keep us posted via this thread on the results of your investigation. \

Thanks in Advance,

Hi!

What about

-x|--x-grid x-axis grid and label (default autoconfigure)

(parameter to rrdtool graph)

Is this somehow implemented into cacti??

Dennis,

If it exists in RRDTool there is no reason we can't get it into 0.8.7.

Yay, Yay! Implement it! Implement it! ;-)

I'd really appreciate that.

Dennis,

Please review the Cacti Graph Creation interface and post your recommendation to the Features Request board. The more specific you are (including marked-up graphics), the greater the chances of this coming sooner than later.
