After upgrade can't add new devices or graphs

Post by budkow »

We recently upgraded from an older version (0.8.7e I believe) to 0.8.8a. Since the upgrade we can't create any new hosts and any new graphs don't have RRD files created.

We started with the 0.8.7e database and the 0.8.8a code. We copied the original RRD files over and all graphs displayed and updated properly. However, when we try to create a new host, we get "Error: Save Failed." New graphs are defined, but there aren't any RRD files created for them.

We turned up logging to Debug, and don't see any relevant error messages (nothing shows up for the hosts with missing RRD files).

Any idea where to start looking or how to fix it?

Thanks.

That sounds very much like a MySQL db issue. But I'm worried, that the debug log does not show anything. It should at least print e.g. the MySQL commands issues. Ah, you must change cacti.log file permissions to allow httpd to write to that file!
