[solved] Wrong Graph display weekly/monthly?

Post by Arcade01 »

Hello,

I've some questions about the graph display. When i check the overview for the daily/weekly/monthly/yearly graph i'm a little bit confused. I can see on the weekly graph, that the maximum incoming traffic is about 59Mbit/s, but on the monthly graph there is only a maximun incoming traffic for 24Mbit/s. Why isn't there also the maximal value for the month?

Cacti Version 0.8.8a
Cacti OS unix
SNMP Version NET-SNMP version: 5.5
RRDTool Version RRDTool 1.4.x
Hosts 5
Graphs 7
Data Sources SNMP Query: 7
Total: 7

Attached you can see both graphs weekly/monthly.

Is this an error from rrdtool, or is it normal?

Cheers
Arcade

This happens in case the consolidation function AVERAGE is used to consolidate several values into a new, bigger interval. From math lessons, this will yield a value that is lower or equal to the highest value in the interval.
So you may want to chnage the graph template to use MAX instead (at least for the LINE/AREA/STACK items)
