I am trying to use the "Interface - Errors/Discards" graph interface to plot/monitor the eth0 input/output traffic of a remote ubuntu host?
However, the rrdtools says:
Error: opening '/var/lib/cacti/rra/client001_errors_in_50.rrd': No such file or directory.
Can i fix that? How?
Thanks,
Diego Silva.

Re: Error when using snmp to host traffic monitoring.
Check the permission on the directory /var/lib/cacti/rra, they should be (date will differ):
drwxrwx--- 2 root www-data 4096 May 8 2010 /var/lib/cacti/rra/
And your web server should run under www-data user. If your situation is different you should match it.
Just to be sure, you did wait 5 minutes for the file to be created right?

Re: Error when using snmp to host traffic monitoring.
I checked the directory permission.
The output:
drwxrwx--- 2 root www-data 4.0K 2012-04-21 14:30 rra
Any other suggestion?
Thanks,
Diego Passos.

Have a look at the log files /var/log/cacti/cacti.log (& poller-error.log)
