[SOLVED] Help needed to recover cacti database

Post by i_lius »

Hi All,
I just had my motherboard burned from lightning strike, and left me with a healthy hard drive, but the windows is unable to load due to new hardware issue.
Although using command prompt, i'm still able to see the files on the hard drive.
Now i'm just wondering if i'm able to backup the cacti database, from these files and copying them to the newly installed windows + new cacti ?
If yes, any guides or link would be very much appreciated.

PS: My cacti ran for almost 2years, and i actually needs those graphs recorded....

Thanks guys!

Hm, If I remember correclty, you should be able to just copy the mysql database directory to the new system and load the files there.
You can copy the .frm, .MYI, and .MYD files for MyISAM tables between different architectures that support the same floating-point format. (MySQL takes care of any byte-swapping issues.
See first paragraph here: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/ ... bases.html
