Authentication problem

Post by wesphillips »

I am having a problem with the authentication of Cacti. I just upgraded to php version 4.2.1 and now the login screen won't actually log in. it dosen't matter if I type a valid account or not and id dosen't matter if I type a valid password for a valit account. It simply keeps on giving the login screen. I have read some of the other messages on this board, and confirmed that the following settings are correct in the php.ini file:

Code: Select all

register_globals = On
register_argc_argv = On
session.use_cookies = 1
session.save_path = /tmp
session.cookie_path = /
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

P.S. I had this post up earlier, but some rude individual deleted it.

I have a feeling this problem has to do with cacti 0.6.8 in general. Did the problem start before or after you upgraded to PHP 4.2.1?

All of the settings you pointed out appear to be correct, so I am not exactly sure what else could be causing it. If you try to login to cacti, then 'ls -al /tmp', can you see 'sess_*' files?

I am not sure how your message could have got deleted, I have never had to delete a post on this board.

Ian,

I am having the same problem here. The session files exist.

Code: Select all

%ls /tmp/sess_*
/tmp/sess_1ac76db1ae71af2510cac7d2800faaff
