Re: monitoring for unix server
Yes, local is the local machine ONLY. Use net-snmp host template instead

hello
ok now i use ucd/net snmp host and these graph :
1) ucd/net - CPU Usage Not Being Graphed
2) ucd/net - Load Average Not Being Graphed
3) ucd/net - Memory Usage Not Being Graphed
1) SNMP - Interface Statistics (Verbose Query) Uptime Goes Backwards Success [0 Items, 0 Rows] Reload Data Query Delete Data Query Association
2) ucd/net - Get Monitored Partitions (Verbose Query) Uptime Goes Backwards Success [0 Items, 0 Rows]
but i have nothing, no data in graph (graph are blank)
so in debug mode:
SNMP Information
System:Linux server01.interne.fr 2.6.18-238.9.1.el5PAE #1 SMP Fri Mar 18
12:50:00 EDT 2011 i686
Uptime: 284975224 (32 days, 23 hours, 35 minutes)
Hostname: server01.interne.fr
Location: Unknown (edit /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf)
Contact: Root root@localhost (configure /etc/snmp/snmp.local.conf)
+ Running data query [2].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/net-snmp_disk.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.9.1.1'
+ No SNMP data returned
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/net-snmp_disk.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/net-snmp_disk.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/net-snmp_disk.xml'

Re: monitoring for unix server
Sure. Some of the information requires a specific snmp.conf setup on the target side. See e.g. net-snmp web pages and/or some information in the net-snmp setup pages of the Cacti documentation (1st link of my sig)
