Duplicate/old src_data records cause bad interface selection

Post by Dan »

Hi,

I've just spent the past couple of hours trying to work out why a couple of datasources weren't working correctly... What was happening was that some of the snmp_net datasources picked up the wrong interface, others got nothing at all/strange/wrong info... I have the datasources pointing at interface IP, so refreshed the interfaces incase they had renumbered again... Still the same... Anyway, in short, after much digging through code to see how things worked, I found that src_data had multiple records with the same FieldID and DSID, but different Values aswell as some interface numbers that didn't belong... While the console interface didn't show this, cmd.php was picking them up as it ran through generating the WHERE clause in get_snmp_network_data, picking up some older records that were still sat there for some reason...

I'm not sure how or why this problem occured...

I got things working again by removing a few records from the database manually...

Anyway, just wanted to share that with you guys incase anyone else runs into the same sort of problems...
