Logic to find temperature OID for HP Switch

Post by fundutzi »

Hello,

I am desperate for help. Many years later I still find it near impossible to find MIB OID for a chosen variable from device. Say temperature.

Today the issue is, I want to graph temperature from a HP V1910 switch.

What I have done:
a. Searched web. No luck.
b. Checked forums, no joy.
c. Did snmpwalk -v1 -c public 172.30.2.1 > mytext
I searched this text file for temperature, nothing.
f. Finally on HP`s website found supposed MIB OID`s for device.
This yielded text files, I find Supposed temperature OIDs. When I do snmpget`s on these it does not exist or is definitely something else.

Will anyone be willing to tutor me how to solve this please. I am more than happy to pay you for your time and be most grateful .

Thank you,
Regards

Not all devices support temperature. How do you know for certain this device does? Briefly looking over it's manual and supported MIBs, I don't see anything regarding environmental/temperature.
