ERROR: invalid rpn expression in: a,8,*
Hello everybody.
I introduce me quickly : I'm french and I'm an administrator of a Cacti system in a university. This system is only used to graph our network appliances (300 swtichs and 25 routers).
Since I installed and remove the plugin autom8, I have this bug:
ERROR: invalid rpn expression in: a,8,*
when i create graphs.
The router i want to graph i well see by cacti. Snmp informations are ok and the data query (SNMP-interface Statistics) is ok.
When I clic on "Create graphs for this host", everythink looks good but graph never apear.
In Data source list, I have all datasources created by cacti.
In Graph list , I have all graph created by cacti, but in each graph there is the error. Cacti seams to not associate datasources and graphs.
I have verified in /var/www/html/cacti/rra and the is no file concerning the router i want to graph. (Rights are good and there is enough space.)
A screenshot of a graphic in debug mode:
http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/3338/graphtd.png
A screenshot of the data source normally associed :
http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/2765/datasource.png
A screenshot of the data template:

Do you see any issue in my config? do you have any idee of a solving method?
Thanks, Christophe

When I saw those errors, in each case the related DEF (for ds=a) was mssing. Please goto Graph Management and switch to DEBUG to verify

Hello.
As you can see in the first screenshot, you are right. There is no "DEF:a=graph_path".
In this path, my new rra are not created (no file and linux rights are good).
Do you know how to change that ?
Thanks, Christophe

You did not assign any data source to inbound and outbound.
How did you create that very graph?

Re: ERROR: invalid rpn expression in: a,8,*
They are made by clicking on "create graph for this host".
In the past (before the installation of autom8), this action went good, now graphs receive no data sources. (Data sources are well seen by cacti).
Bye

Strange, not a known bug. Which version of cacti and plugins are you using?

Hi,
I'am running Cacti on version 0.8.7e and those plugins:

> weathermap v0.97
> plugin_architecture v2.6
> network_discovery v0.9
> thresholds v0.4.1
Thanks, Christophe.

Not that this will solve the issue, but it will help debugging if you are able to upgrade to 087i+PIA

Ok gandalf I am having this same issue after upgrading to 0.8.8 along with another issue with my plugin monitor. You have any more ideas on correcting this error? I do not want to loose my data history.gandalf wrote:Not that this will solve the issue, but it will help debugging if you are able to upgrade to 087i+PIA

Interesting note is very few of my graphs are working. Like weatherbug all but one graph is working. All my graphs were working before upgrading to 0.8.8.

In case this is a windows platform, you've hit a fresh, but already known bug. We're working on a fix (and I've already got an idea how this would work)cjolly3053 wrote:Ok gandalf I am having this same issue after upgrading to 0.8.8 along with another issue with my plugin monitor. Fix has been submitted to SVN right now. Download lib/rrd.php and lib/functions.php from http://svn.cacti.net to get that code
