CactiEZ install and virtual servers down

Post by katiejallred »

I'm going to preface this post by stating that I am a complete beginner. I did not even know how to create a linux server until last week. I have limited knowledge of our servers, but I can talk with someone that has more knowledge.

I was commissioned by my boss to get Cacti up and running to create weathermaps. I've created the weathermaps in Cacti before. I did this for a company I worked with previously... I did not; however, actually install Cacti or the devices.

I'm attaching two screen shots. The issue I'm having is that all of our virtual servers are showing as "down" when they are "up". All of our servers have their SNMP services started. The UMVIRTUAL server that I'm posting is an actual server and not a virtual one, yet it is also showing as down. The only server, besides the localhost of CactiEZ itself, that I can get to show as up is the "UM_MAIL" one. It's a real server, by itself.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I would also like to know if upgrading for version 8c to 8i would help, and how that is possible in detail if it would. If it wouldn't help, than I won't bother.

It might be possible that different templates would help. Like a virtual server template or something like that.

Any help would be super appreciated!

In most cases, SNMP parameters are wrong for given host. You may see 2nd link of my sig for a generic debugging procedure, step-by-step
