[solved] How To disable Treshold Log to cacti.log ?

Post by neox01 »

Hello,

I have configured a lot of Tresholds in Thold and I don't want Thold to log every check to the global cacti logfile (log/cacti.log):

Code: Select all

01/31/2012 11:00:17 AM - THOLD: Checking Threshold:'host - Errors - ifc42 (Slot: 1 Port: 42) [errors_in]', Graph:'123'
Is it possible to disable this behavior?

Thanks!

Please turn off "Debug Log" in 'Settings -> Thresholds'.

Hi noname, debug is not on! I post a screenshot when I'm back in office.

Hello, here the screenshot from my Thold Settings. No debug mode is enabled. A solution is very important for me because the logfile increases in 24 h to ~5 GB!
Logrotate cuts and compresses the file every day but it makes it difficult to find the relevant cacti information.

Hmm..

There is a known bug in 0.8.7i -- if once enabled checkbox in 'Settings' page, you can't disable it.
Try to apply official patch.

Hi, I have had already installed the patch :-/ Maybe I must install the ReportIT again after apply the patch. I will try this out.
If that did not work I will have a look to the cacti mysql database. Perhaps I can change the value there.

Hm... "thold_log_debug" in table "settings" in the "cacti" db is set correct to "NULL" when debug checkbox is disabled. After enabling the checkbox the value is "on".
I think the cacti checkbox patch works right...

Well, then..
Don't you add "-d" or "--debug" option to poller.php in crontab?
